Commercial generator interconnect for a full service restaurant in Plant City. Scope covered safe tie in to existing service, transfer equipment, conduit and wiring, testing, and commissioning.

Summary

In 2025 we completed a commercial generator interconnect for a restaurant in Plant City. The work included installing and wiring exterior transfer equipment, making up terminations in multiple enclosures, and routing new feeders in rigid conduit. The system was function tested for start, transfer, and retransfer, and handed off with as built photos and labeling.

Details

  • Exterior switchgear lineup with utility service disconnect, fused disconnects, and generator transfer cabinet mounted on CMU wall

  • New rigid PVC and EMT conduit runs with proper supports, bends, and expansion joint across the wall span

  • Feeder terminations made up with color coded conductors and mechanical lugs; torque to spec and verified

  • Control wiring for start/stop and sensing landed, dressed, and tested

  • Functional testing: start on loss of utility, load transfer, and automatic retransfer back to utility

  • Coordination with site operations to maintain egress and keep refrigeration online during switchover window

  • NEC compliance and good workmanship practices for a food service environment (exterior location, weather resistant components)
